About the Artwork: This series, called Handiwork, takes its titles from terms used in needlecraft and sewing. The foundation is a hand cut form of a house, a shape I began making during the global shelter in place. The repetitive dots go down like stitches, marking time with women creating with their hands across the globe. With the heat of the torch, the marks melt into cell-like shapes, relating to how handiwork is part of our stories and life events - the literal and emotional fabric that is passed down through our lives.
